One Euro drawings
Manifesto
"One Euro drawings" is the adaptation for the European audience of the project “Desenhos de um Real” (Drawings of one Real). This project that emerged in 2006 with the challenge of selling drawings for one Brazilian Real, follows the logic of mass production of goods and considers the value of the work involved in the production time. Establishing 20,00 € per hour of work, each drawing must be produced in less than 3 minutes to be sold for 1,00 €. In the exhibition, up to two thousand of drawings are hung on the walls and on the opening and closing days, the public can take the drawings off the walls and buy them for one Euro. The drawings, all 21x15cm, vary in dates, techniques, and are all numbered and signed.

Process
Records from the first day of work in 2006
At the beginning of the project, I carried a folder with 100 drawings and documented each sale with a photograph, with money in my hand in the foreground and the person holding the drawings in the background. The sheets were of any size, which made handling and storage difficult. After 6 thousand drawings, I started using only A5 sheets vertically, and all drawings began to have a stamp with the name of the project and another stamp with the numbering.
Assembly Plan
The drawings are installed on the wall with two points of double-sided tape at the upper vertices, making it easy to remove at the time of sale. 7 drawings per linear meter - 35 drawings per square meter

Drawings Machines
From 2012 onwards I started building machines to help with the production of drawings. Some use Arduino with algorithms created so that the design is never repeated. Other machines are analog and the originality is achieved through direct intervention of the hand or by changing the position of its components.

With 3 microwave motors and a 2000w dimmer, Vicktor Jr can be configured on the disc radios to create different types of drawings. Taking advantage of the inconsistency of the electricity that comes from the line, in a special position the dimmer turns the motors on and off, thus changing the direction of rotation.
